Tyson Barker

Tyson Barker is a Senior Research Fellow at the Brandenburgisches Institut für Gesellschaft und Sicherheit (BIGS), a German security think tank affiliated with the University of Potsdam.  In 2015-16, he served as the rapporteur for the Atlantic Council Task Force on the Transatlantic Digital Economy. In 2014-5, he served as Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the US State Department in Washington, D.C. In this role, he managed planning and strategy, speech writing and Congressional relations for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs (EUR). Prior to joining State, he worked for 6 years at the Bertelsmann Foundation, most recently as the Director for Trans-Atlantic Relations.
